MPBL South Finals – Zamboanga brought the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) South Division Finals to a halt on Tuesday night, defeating Batangas City, 63-53, in Game 2 of the best-of-three series at the Batangas City Sports Coliseum.

Top-seeded Zamboanga rallied to its defense in the second half to flip the result at the MPBL South Finals, restricting second-seeded Batangas City to just 19 points in the remaining 20 minutes after taking a 24-9 lead late in the first quarter and finding itself in danger of being swept in the best-of-three series.
Jhaps Bautista led Zamboanga with 17 points, five rebounds, one assist, and one steal, sending the series back to the Vitaliano Agan Coliseum in Zamboanga City for the rubber match on Saturday night at the MPBL South Finals.
Adi Santos contributed 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting, seven of which came towards the end as Zamboanga took the lead for good, eight rebounds, and one steal.

Ced Ablaza led Batangas City with 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench at the MPBL South Finals. Despite winning Game 1 last weekend, Batangas City was unable to eliminate Zamboanga at home.
The result ensured that both Final Four matches would go the distance, with the rubber matches taking place this weekend at the MPBL South Finals.
On Friday night, Nueva Ecija will meet San Juan in the North Division Finals at the Nueva Ecija Coliseum in Palayan City. (PNA)
